Apparently it’s a thing in fandom to be resentful of the companions who replace your favorites. I’ve never understood this. 

Case in point: it’s not much of a secret that I love Jamie and Zoe, yeah? And yet I also unreservedly adore Liz and the Brig. 

Facts.

I love Leela, Romana, Nyssa, Turlough, Peri, Mel, Ace, Charlie. And never think of them in competition. Sure, I like some a little more than others but they are all stand up ladies.

Yes Turlough, you are a stand up lady.

Word thiiiiis.  Leela and Romana are my favorite companions, and the one replaced the other, so there you go.  Then again, I suppose I’m not what you might call FOND of Adric, who came after the both of them, but I don’t despise him, and if you could please point me to ten Whovians in the whole of the internet whose feelings on Adric are warmer than “He’s tolerable,” I will show you a flying pig.
